I am an Associate Professor (NTT) of English at the University of Delaware where I teach courses in technical and professional writing, and digital and environmental rhetoric. I am also chair of the Interactive Media Minor and affiliate faculty with the Delaware Environmental Institute.

I ask students to not only engage with genres of professional writing, but also how they they can write in multiple modes and genres of digital writing. To do this, my students learn to consider how the complexities of audience, purpose, context, and genre can guide them in making conscious and informed decisions to achieve their communication goals. This makes them effective writers, as well as critical consumers and producers of information.

My research is influenced by my own experiences, including classroom and as a non-tenure track faculty.
